                New 1.05-gb Configurations for upgrades
               for Upgrades to SPARCstation 10 Model 41

Sun announces an addition to its line of upgrades to the
SPARCstation(TM) 10.  Available immediately are 1.05-GB internal disk
drive configurations for upgrades to the SPARCstation 10 Model 41.
That means customers who are upgrading from SPARCstation 1,
SPARCstation 2, and SPARCstation IPX(TM) can choose a SPARCstation 10
Model 41 diskfull chassis swap upgrade which includes a 1.05-GB
internal disk drive.  Upgrade configurations with the 424-MB internal
disk drives remain available.

The chassis swap upgrades to SPARCstation 10 Model 41 offer customers
dramatic improvements in performance while maintaining their investment
in their monitor, frame buffer and other SBus cards (some exceptions
noted in price list), internal disks(s), external peripherals, keyboard
and mouse.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
---------------------

Q. Will the 1.05GB disk be available on the upgrades to SPARCstation 10 
   Model 30?

A. Not at this time. The majority of customers who upgrade to the 
   SPARCstation 10 Model 30 are interested in the lower price point
   offered with the 424MB configuration.  Customers upgrading to the
   SPARCstation 10 Model 30 can add an internal or external 1.05GB
   disk drive (order numbers X545A and X546A, respectively).
   

Q. If I recently took delivery of a 424MB configuration would it
   be possible to upgrade my 424MB disk to a 1.05GB disk now ?

A. A customer can add a 1.05GB disk into the second disk slot of the
   SPARCstation 10, but we have no plans at this time for a disk upgrade 
   from a 424MB to a 1.05GB disk.


Q. Does this announcement mean that the 424MB upgrade configurations are 
   being transitioned off the price list?

A. No.  Both 424MB and 1.05GB configurations will continue to be in place.
