The SPARCstation ELC was designed with the current SLC customer in mind.  
The result is a simple, customer-installable, 0 Mbyte CPU board upgrade 
that doubles the performance of SPARCstation SLC.


Product Highlights

The SPARCstation ELC defines "elegance on a budget" and is Sun's new high-
performance entry-level monochrome desktop.  Some key features of the SLC
to ELC upgrade: 

	- Performance doubles from 9.8 SPECmarks to 20.3 SPECmarks
	- SLC simms are retained for use on the ELC board
	- Upgrade fully supports all SLC and ELC options and peripherals
	- The simple board swap is customer installable in minutes
	- SunOS 4.1.1 is included at no charge if required
	- Same day service price is $5 per month lower than for SLC

The upgrade is available in quantity 22 July.

Upgrade price is $2,095 (discount category A).


Notes:
	
Customers must return a simm-less SPARCstation SLC CPU board.
Return packaging is included with the upgrade.

SunOS 4.1.1. is required for support and can be ordered at no
charge with the upgrade if required.

	General Notes
	-------------
	SPARCstation SLC 80ns simms are supported in migration to SPARCstation
	ELC.  The simms will be removed from the SPARCstation SLC CPU board
	and then be installed on the SPARCstation ELC CPU board.
	
	SPARCstation SLCs built in May and June of 1990 may have 100ns
        simms (Sun part number 501-1676-01), which are not supported with
	the SPARCstation ELC.  SPARCstation SLCs with serial numbers
	between 020G00 and 030G99 should be checked and the simms replaced.
		 
	All SPARCstation SLC and ELC options are fully supported.
